    Spinach Brownies

    Source of Recipe

    My friend Shari

    Recipe Introduction

These are a great appetizer. I cut them into diamonds and freeze separately. Then toss into Ziplock bags so I can take them out at any time to reheat for company to have with cocktails.

    List of Ingredients

1/2 lb. bulk pork sausage, crumbled and cooked
    1 cup freshly minced onion
    1 cup flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1 cup milk
1/2 stick (4 Tablespoons) butter, melted
    2 eggs, well beaten
    10-oz. cheddar cheese, shredded
10-oz. frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained well

    Recipe

    Preheat oven to 350
Brown sausage and onions in skillet.
Mix flour, salt and baking powder in bowl.. set aside.
Mix milk, butter and eggs in another bowl.
Add egg mixture to flour mixture and combine. Add sausage/onion mixture and drained spinach and cheese.
Spread in 9X13-inch greased baking dish.
Bake 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
    Cool and cut into squares.

Can be frozen for use later as appetizers.

Note: pkg. of chopped broccoli can be used instead of spinach.
