    Teriyaki Sauce

    Source of Recipe

    internet

    Recipe Introduction

This is better than any bottled sauce you'll ever buy. I use this sauce at the last minute before plating the food. I brush it on chicken or pork.. or even vegetables. So easy and delicious.

    List of Ingredients

    1/4 cup soy sauce
    1 cup water
    1/2 teaspoon ginger
    1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    4 tablespoons brown sugar
    2 tablespoons honey

    2 tablespoons cornstarch
    1/4 cup cold water

    Recipe

Mix soy sauce, water, ginger, garlic powder, brown sugar and honey in small saucepan.

Bring to light simmer while stirring constantly.
Make a slurry with cornstarch and water.

Slowly add the slurry to the simmering sauce and stir sauce until thickened.

Don't overcook or the cornstarch mixture will break down and your sauce might thin out again.

Note: You can use fresh ginger.. fresh garlic if you have it. I like to add some crushed red pepper flakes to mine to give it a little {{kick}}!!
