My dad died in 2006, but his recipe lives on. This is a wonderful bread for sandwiches or toasting. I usually make this in the machine and set it on 2lb loaf with medium crust. You can just make the dough in the machine and do your loaves free hand if you like. Either way is delicious. Try adding dill SEED not WEED (2 Tablespoons ) to the mix for a lovely flavor.

List of Ingredients

1 1/2 cups warm water
2 Tablespoons butter (softened or melted)
2 teaspoons salt
2 Tablespoons sugar
2 Tablespoons dry milk powder
3 1/2 cups bread flour
2/3 cup of instant potato flakes
2 teaspoons dry yeast


Recipe

Add all ingredients to your machine as directed.
The order above is how I do it.
Set machine for White bread, 2lb loaf, medium crust.
My machine takes a little over 3 hours to complete.
Please let bread cool completely before slicing.
