    I don't know why this recipe is called a macaroon. Most of you would know them as Chocolate Crinkles. My grandma swears that the name on the recipe that she has is Chocolate macaroon and that is what we have always called them.

    List of Ingredients




    1/2 c. shortening
    4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
    2 c. flour
    4 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    powdered sugar

    Recipe



    Melt shortening and chocolate in double boiler. Beat in sugar until sugar is no longer grainy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla and sifted flour, baking powder and salt.
    Chill for 2 to 3 hours. Dip out by teaspoon and make into small balls, rolling each in powdered sugar.
    Bake 10-12 min at 350.
