    TOH (2000 Annual Recipe Book)

    Recipe Introduction

This is from the 2000 Taste of Home annual recipe book....submitted by Jean Kennedy, Springfield, OR.

    List of Ingredients

    BROWNIES

1/2 c. soft butter or margarine
    1 c. sugar
    4 eggs
1 can (16 oz) chocolate syrup
    1 tsp vanilla
    1 c. flour
    1/2 tsp salt

    GLAZE

    1 c. sugar
    1/3 c. butter or margarine
    1/3 c. milk
    2/3 c. semisweet chocolate chips
    2/3 c. miniature marshmallows

    Recipe

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in chocolate syrup and vanilla. Add the flour and salt until blended.

Pour into a greased 15 x 10 x 1 baking pan. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean (top of brownies will still appear wet). (You can bake in a 9 x 13, but it will need to bake longer.) Cool on wire rack 15-20 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine sugar, butter and milk. Bring to a boil; boil until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from the heat; stir in chocolate chips and marshmallows until melted. Pour over the brownies and spread evenly. Refrigerate for 5 minutes before cutting. Yield: about 3 doz.
