    Recipe Introduction

And not just because it's a popular drink for a rough morning like this. We celebrate the cocktail and its creator, Fernand Petiot, who first mixed tomato juice and vodka to make the Bloody Mary in 1920 at his bar in Paris. In 1934, Petiot spiced things up a bit by adding Tabasco to the concoction for his customers at the St. Regis Hotel in Manhattan.
