Fudge Cake in a Skillet


1/4cup vegetable shortening or butter
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate
1/4 cup milk
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking powder
pinch salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 cups less 2 tbsp. flour
1 pint sour cream
powdered sugar

Recipe





Melt the butter or shortening and the chocolate over low heat in a 10-inch cast iron skillet. Remove from the heat and add the milk and sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla a stir well.

Add the baking powder, salt, baking soda, half the flour and half the sour cream. Blend with a fork and add the rest of the flour and sour cream.

Blend well. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 50 minutes. When cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
