Chocolate Cream Cheese Cookies
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 egg
3 ounce package cream cheese, softened
3 ounces bittersweet chocolate melted and cooled
2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 ounces vanilla-flavored candy coating melted
3/4 cup finely chopped nuts
Recipe
Heat oven to 375. Mix sugar, butter, vanilla, egg, cream cheese and
chocolate in a large bowl until smooth. Mix flour, baking powder
and salt. Stir into margarine mixture.
Divide dough in half.
Roll each half 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured work surface. Cut into
desired shapes with cookie cutters or into rounds with biscuit
cutter. Place about 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8
minutes. Remove from cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack. Roll edge
f cookies about 1/4 inch deep in candy coating and immediately roll
in candies or nuts.
Place on waxed paper and let stand 10 minutes.
