Aunt Mary's Mud Pie
1/2 box chocolate wafers (8.5 oz. size)
1/2 stick butter, melted
1 quart coffee ice cream, softened
1 can fudge sauce (8 oz)
1 cup whipping cream
1/4 cup slivered almonds
Recipe
Crush wafers. Add melted butter and mix well. Press against bottom and sides of a 9" pie plate. Cover with softened ice cream and put in freezer until ice cream is firm. Top with fudge sauce, spreading evenly over ice cream. Store in freezer for about 10 hours or until completely firm.
To serve, slice into pie shaped wedges and put on chilled dessert plates. Top with whipped cream and slivered almonds.
