Spiced Pickled Peaches
1 (1 lb.) can cling peach halves
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. white vinegar
1 t. black peppercorns
1 t. whole cloves
1 t. allspice (ground)
Recipe
Drain peach syrup into a saucepan, reserving the peaches. Add the rest of the ingredients and bring to a boil. Boil for several minutes, pour over the peaches and cool. Place in the refrigerator and use as an accompaniment for chicken dishes or with summer salads. They keep well in the refrigerator.
