Picnic Pot Beans
8 slices bacon
1 C. finely chopped onion
1/2C. chopped green pepper
2 lg. cans pork and beans (#2 size)
2 T. dark molasses
4 t. Worcestershire sauce
6 T. dark brown sugar
1 t. salt
1/4 t. pepper
1/4 t. oreganoRecipe
Fry bacon in skillet; reserve 2 T. fat. Crumble bacon; Set aside.
Heat reserved fat in skillet; add onion and green pepper. Cook about
5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Put beans into 2 1/2 quart
casserole. Mix in remaining ingredients. Heat, uncovered, in 400
degree oven about 1 hour.
