    Crunchy Critters



    - slices (1/4-inch thick) cucumber or zucchini squash
    - round buttery crackers
    - pasteurized process cheese spread in aerosol can, or package of whipped cream cheese
    - grape cherry tomatoes
    - baby carrots, each cut into 4 thin strips
    - stuffed green olives or ripe olives
    - sweet midget gherkins
    - chow mein noodles

    Recipe






    Pat all vegetables dry. Critters can be made using crackers or cucumber slices. Refrigerate critters until ready to serve.


    Turtle: Spread crackers or cucumber slices with cheese. Press carrot strips into cheese on each cracker to form legs and a tail. Top each with a cracker or cucumber slice. Use cherry tomato halves to form heads.


    Crab: Spread crackers or cucumber slices with cheese, and top with another cracker or cucumber slice. Press 5 chow mein noodles into cheese on each side of the critters to form legs. Cut stuffed green olives into slices and press into cheese at one end of each for eyes.


    Bug: Spread crackers or cucumber slices with cheese and top with another cracker or cucumber slice. Use halves or black olives to make heads, and decorate the top of each critter with cheese, tomato, gherkin or olive pieces. Use your imagination to make wings, legs or antennae.
