This is a flavorful steak in a savory tomato sauce

Mexican Steak from Connie
1 lb chuck or round steak cut into bite sized pieces.
2 large cloves chopped garlic
2 tbsp oil
1 jalapeno pepper (seeds removed if you don't like it too spicy)
1/2 onion
2 C water
6 Roma tomatoes
Chopped fresh cilantro to taste
Salt to taste
Recipe
Sauté garlic in oil. Add cut up steak and cook until brown. Add water. Bring to a boil. Let boil while cutting up jalapeño pepper and onion. Add pepper and onion. Continue boiling on medium high until onion is tender, about 10 minutes. It is ok to add more water if needed. Add coarsely chopped tomatoes. Continue cooking until a rich gravy has formed and meat is tender, about 20 min. Add cilantro and cook for 10 min. more Serve in bowls with warmed tortillas used for dipping or make tacos with it.
