Ham with Cabbage and Potatoes from David
12 cups water
2 meaty smoked ham hocks
1 medium head cabbage, cored and quartered
3 potatoes, peeled and quartered Recipe
In a large stockpot combine the water and ham hocks and boil for about
45 minutes. Remove ham hocks once the meat becomes tender and pulls
easily from the bone. Remove all the meat and dice it into bite size
pieces. Discard the bones, return the ham meat back to the stock and
bring mixture to a boil. Ad the cabbage and cook until just about tender,
25 minutes. Add the potatoes and cook until tender. Remove from the
heat and serve in a large bowl.
Makes 4 servings.
