    Autumn Corn Chowder


    5 slices of bacon
    1 med. onion, chopped
    2 med. potatoes, peeled and chopped
    1/2 c. water
    1 (17 oz.) can cream style corn
    2 c. milk
    1 tsp. salt
    Dash of pepper
    1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese

    Recipe





    In large saucepan, cook bacon until crisp. Remove bacon, crumble and set aside. Reserve 3 tablespoons bacon drippings in pan, add onions and cook until lightly browned. Add diced potatoes and water. Cook until tender (10-15 minutes). Add corn, milk, salt and pepper, bacon and heat until hot. Add 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese mixed with 1 tablespoon flour. (Don't boil after cheese is added, or it will curdle.)
