    Fab Energy Bars

    Source of Recipe

    Janey

    Recipe Introduction

This is one dessert that is loved by adults & children alike. If you are trying to convince your family to eat clean & nutritious foods, look no further. These delicious treats are packed with good nutrition and energy that will last for hours.

    List of Ingredients

    Fab Energy Bars

    2 cups whole oats
    2 tsp cinnamon
Pinch of sea salt or kosher salt (optional)
    2/3 cup chopped natural walnuts
1/2 cup cacao nibs (I prefer raw nibs…
if you want more sweetness go
for 70% cocoa nibs or bittersweet
    chocolate chips will work also
    1 1/4 cup raisins
1/2 cup pitted dates (no sugar added)
¼ cup Sorghum or raw honey

    Recipe

Add oats, cinnamon, salt, chopped walnuts and dark chocolate to a large mixing bowl.

Mix well with a large spoon. Chop raisins and dates in food processor on pulse until a very gooey consistency, add to the
above mixture. Add sorghum to the mixture and mix well to thoroughly incorporate. (Note: mixture will be sticky until after being in the frig for a few hours).

Spread into an 8? x 8square pan for thicker bars, press down evenly– using a little wax paper if needed, cover with an airtight lid and place in the refrigerator.

After two hours, cut into bars and enjoy!

Fab Energy Bars will keep up to one week in the frig.

This recipe is so versatile that you can also make these into 1 inch balls, sprinkle with a good quality cocoa or drizzle with
    dark chocolate…these now become Truffles.

Try putting them in a food safe, biodegradeable plastic bag, tie with
a ribbon and give these delicious & healthy treats as gift.

Sorghum is a healthy alternative to sugar
    and other sweeteners.
