    Recipe Introduction

Creamy chocolate confections studded with liqueur-drenched cranberries are impressive and easy!

    List of Ingredients

    Orange Cranberry Truffles

    1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/4 + 1 tablespoon orange liqueur, such as Grand Marnier, divided
    8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
    1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup butter, cut into pieces
    3 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
    2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

    Recipe

In a small pot, combine cranberries with 1/4 cup liqueur over high heat, bring to a boil. Remove from heat, let stand 10 minutes. In another pot, heat chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly, until melted. Removed from heat stir in cream, butter, remaining liqueur and reserved cranberries until butter is melted and mixture is combined. Refrigerate 30 minutes. Line baking sheet with wax paper. With measuring spoon, scoop rounded teaspoonfuls of chocolate mixture onto baking sheet.

Working quickly between palms of your hands, roll each chocolate piece into ball. Place on wax paper, refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour. In separate bowls, toss 1/2 of truffles, 2-3 at a time, in confectioners' sugar and 1/2 in cocoa powder, shaking off excess. Store in bags in freezer with extra confectioners' sugar or cocoa powder until ready to serve; toss lightly in extra powder before serving or packaging. Makes 44 truffles.
