Pickles in A Pail
2 cups thinly sliced Onions
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
6 cups thinly sliced Cucumbers
2 cups White Vinegar
4 cups White Sugar
1 tsp Celery Seeds
2 Tbsps Coarse Salt
1 tsp Tumeric
Recipe
In a large pot, combine sugar, salt, mustard seeds, vinegar, celery seeds, and tumeric
Bring to a boil.
Boil for 2 minutes.
Put onions and cucumbers in a 4 litre pail, layering onions and cucumbers.
Pour boiled ingredients over cucumbers and onions; stir.
Put lid on pail and store in the refrigerator.
Leave in refrigerator for a few days before eating.
Add more cucumbers as needed. The brine is good for 6 months. (They must be stored in the fridge)
