    Source of Recipe

    Mai

    List of Ingredients

    Batter:

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened

    1 1/2 cups sugar

    2 eggs

    1 teaspoon vanilla

    2 cups flour

    1 teaspoon baking powder

    1 teaspoon salt

    1/2 teaspoon baking soda

    1 teaspoon cinnamon

    1/8 teaspoon ground allspice

    1 cup mashed ripe bananas

    1/2 cup milk

    1 cup finely chopped walnuts

    Glaze:

    1/4 cup butter, softened

    1 1/2 cups confectioner's sugar

2 tblsp. Arrow Creme De Banana**

    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    2 - 3 tablespoons hot water

    1/2 cup chopped walnuts

    Recipe

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda and spices. Combine bananas and milk. Add the dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with banana mixture; mix well. Stir in nuts. Pour into a greased 15 x 10 x 1 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.

To make glaze: Cream butter and sugar in a small mixing bowl. Stir in banana liqueur the vanilla and enough water until the glaze reaches desired consistency. Spread over the bars. Sprinkle with walnuts.

    **Arrow Creme De Banana
American banana flavored liqueur. Golden color. The 'Creme' means that this cordial is sweeter than most liqueurs or schnapps, not that it is blended with cream.
