Pineapple Date Bars
20 ounces crushed pineapple
2 cups chopped dates
3 cups oats
1 cup wheat germ
1 cup coconut
1 cup chopped walnuts
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups orange juice
1/4 cup oil
Recipe
Combine pineapple and dates in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat until thickened. Stir frequently.
In a large bowl, mix oats, wheat germ, coconut, walnuts, and salt. Stir in juice and oil. Press half of the oat mixture into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Spread the pine-apple mixture on top, and then sprinkle on remaining oat mixture. Press down lightly. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool. Cut into squares.
