ROD 4/20/2006 Race Horse Day KENTUCKY HO

    Source of Recipe

    Recipe Introduction

Horse racing is one of our oldest sports. It started about 4500 B.C. among the prehistoric nomadic tribesmen of Central Asia who first domesticated the horse. For thousands of years, it was the favorite sport of kings and noblemen. And just like other sports... timing is everything. A thoroughbred racehorse can only run at top speed for about a quarter of a mile. The jockey's biggest job is to decide when that power surge will win the race. The next time you get a hankering for Louisville, Kentucky Bluegrass style chocolate nut pie, don't rush out to the bakery shop or the race track. Using all the best ingredients, you can whip up an improved version of this Kentucky Famous Horserace Day treat right in your home kitchen. So don your Famous Horserace cap, rev up that mixer, and place your bet on the best pie to ever grace the winner's circle!
