List of Ingredients
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 t. baking powder
2 eggs
Glaze:
1/2 c. milk
1/4 c. sugar &
1 lemon rind,grated
juice of 1 lemon (2 1/2 T.)
Recipe
Cream first three ingredients. Add milk & grated rind. Combine with dry ingredients. Place in a greased loaf pan and bake at 350 for 50 - 60 min.. Drizzle glaze over bread while still warm. For an added variation make a double batch and use the juice and rind from 1 lime and 1 lemon to make a very tasty citrus flavored bread.
