    BEST BUTTERY BISCUITS

    ½ c. butter
    2 c. self-rising flour
    ¾ c. - 1 c. whipping cream
    ¼ c. butter, melted



    Recipe

    Cut ½ c. butter into flour with a pastry blender or fork until crumbly.
    Add whipping cream, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.
    Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead lightly 3 or 4 times.

    Roll or pat dough to ¾" thickness.
    Cut with a 2 inch round cutter; place biscuits on a lightly greased baking sheet.

    Bake at 400º for 13-15 minutes.
    Brush biscuits with ¼ cup melted butter.
    You can also add sharp cheddar cheese (about ½c. - ¾ c.) to the flour before adding the other ingredients.

    If you don't care for the butter biscuits, then use 1 1/2 c. self-rising flour, 1 c. whipping cream, 1/3 t. baking powder.
    Mix as indicated above and bake.

    This are wonderful party biscuits (use
    a small biscuit cutter)
