    Freezer Biscuits

    List of Ingredients

    2 packets yeast
    5 cups flour
    4 teaspoons baking powder
    4 tablespoons sugar
    2 cups buttermilk
    1/4 cup warm water
    1 teaspoon soda
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 cup shortening


    Recipe

    Dissolve yeast in warm water. Sift dry ingredients & cut in shortening. Add yeast & buttermilk to dry mix. Mix well. Knead quickly 20 to 30 strokes. Roll out and cut into biscuits. Place on cookie sheet. Freeze, then transfer to freezer bags. When ready to bake, place on a cookie sheet without thawing and put into cold oven. Turn oven to 400. Bake until brown, about 25 to 35 minutes.
    Great to have on hand!
