    Home version of Red Lobster's Cheesy Bisquits

    2 cups buttermilk baking mix
    2/3 cup milk
    1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
    1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    Heat oven to 450 degrees.


    Recipe

    In a mixing bowl, combine baking mix, milk and shredded cheese with a wooden spoon until a soft dough forms. Beat vigorously 30 seconds. Drop dough by heaping tablespoons onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.

    In a separate bowl, combine melted butter or margarine and garlic powder. Brush over warm biscuits before removing from cookie sheet. Serve warm.

    Makes 10 to 12 biscuits.

    Note: The next time, I will roll the dough to about 1/2-inch thickness, then cut it into biscuits. The dropped biscuits were a nice golden color, but were undercooked inside.
