Martha's Healthy Favorite Oatmeal

1/2 cup steel cut oats, preferably McCann’s
Assorted additions such as golden raisins, brown sugar, and cooked brown rice
1. In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups water to a boil over medium-high heat;
stir in oats. When oatmeal begins to thicken, reduce heat, and simmer, stirring
occasionally, for 30 minutes.
2. Divide oatmeal between 2 bowls; stir in desired additions. Serve.
