Chocolate Whiskey Cake

15 oz. semisweet chocolate, chopped
3/4 cup raisins
2/3 cup whiskey
1 cup all purpose flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 cup plus 2 tbs. butter
7 eggs
GLAZE:
8 oz. semisweet chocolate, chopped
1 cup heavy cream
1 1/2 tbs. corn syrup
whipped cream and chocolate leaves
Recipe
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Butter and flour 9 inch springform pan. In bowl microwave chocolate on high 3 min. until melted. Set aside. Cool until warm. In another bowl combine raisins and whiskey, microwave on high 2 min. Cool until warm. Combine flour with salt, set aside. In bowl beat sugar with butter until smooth. Beat in reserved flour mixture. Beat in eggs. Beat in
chocolate. Stir in reserved raisin mixture with any remaining whiskey. Pour batter into pan. Bake 1 hour. Cool in pan.
GLAZE:
In pot combine chocolate with cream. Cook mixture, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat, stir in syrup. Cool 20 min. Remove cake from pan, place on rack set in jellyroll pan. Pour glaze over cake, spreading over top with spatula to completely cover top and side. Let stand until just set, 45 min. Just before serving, garnish with whipped cream rosettes and chocolate leaves. Makes 16 servings.
