    Crazy Crust Pear Pie

    1 c. all-purpose flour (if using self-rising flour, omit baking powder and salt)
    1 tsp. baking powder
    ½ tsp. salt
    1 tbsp. sugar
    1 egg
    2/3 c. shortening
    3/4 c. water
    1 3/4 c. firm pears, peeled and diced
    1/4 c. dark raisins
    1/4 c. golden raisins
    1/3 c. sugar
    2 tbsp. flour
    ½ tsp. nutmeg or allspice

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 400o. In small mixer bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, egg, shortening and water. Blend well; beat 2 minutes at medium speed of mixer. Pour batter into 9" pie pan. In separate bowl combine diced pears, raisins, sugar, flour and spice. Pour mixture carefully into center of batter. DO NOT STIR. Bake at 400o for 35 to 40 minutes.
