My sister-in-law sent this recipe to me.


List of Ingredients




Good Old Yankee Apple Cake

2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
4 eggs
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup oil
3 teaspoons vanilla
1/3 cup orange juice
1/4 teaspoon salt

APPLE MIX
4 large apples, peeled -- cored and sliced
4 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon



Recipe



Beat everything but Apple Mix with mixer for 10 minutes. Grease 2 loaf pans or 1 tube pan and make several layers of batter and apples, beginning with batter and ending with apples.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until tester is dry when inserted in center.
A tube pan will take 10-15 minutes longer. (If glass pans are used, turn oven to 325 degrees after first 10 minutes)
