OATMEAL CAKE

1 1/4 cups boiling water
1 cup raw rolled oats
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg

Frosting
1/4 cup margarine
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 tbsp milk
1/3 cup chopped nuts
3/4 cup coconut




Recipe

Pour boiling water over oats;

cover and let stand 20 minutes.

Beat margarine sugar and eggs; add vanilla.
Combine flour,soda,salt and spices, add to sugar mixture with rolled
oats. Bake in 10 inch pan at 350 for 50 minutes.
Frost immediately.

Frosting

Combine all and spread on cake. put in broiler and broil just until
golden and bubbly. Serve hot or cold
