Old Fashioned Jam Cake With Frosting

Cream together:

2 cups sugar
2 cup shortening

Add yolks of 4 eggs. Mix together:

2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
3 cups flour



Recipe



Add alternately to first mixture with 1 cup milk. Beat 4 egg whites and fold in last with 1 cup of jam (raspberry or strawberry being tastiest) Bake in greased and floured tube pan for 1 hour at 325 degrees then for 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
This is a rich and moist cake
