Description
This is a unique way to make mac and cheese for your family or guests. My husband LOVES it and requests it weekly. You add cheese-it crackers on top for a crunchy finish. It has several ingredients you add the macaroni that make it creamy. Makes a large amount so it can be saved for left overs or feed a large group of people. Kids love this as well. It's a 5 star dish in my family.
Ingredients
2 boxes of Macaroni and Cheese (your brand of choice) (can use 1 box if feeding a smaller group)
1/2 an onion chopped
1 cup of mayo
1 small container of sour cream
1 small jar of pimentos
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
Shredded cheddar cheese
Cheese-it crackers (the reduced fat cheese-it's do not give it as much flavor as the regular cheese-it's)
Directions
Cook Macaroni as directed. In large mixing bowl combine the macaroni with mayo, pimentos, sour cream, cream of mushroom soup, onion and cheese. Once mixed well, pour into 9x13 casserole dish and spread evenly. Crush cheese-it crackers over top of casserole until macaroni is covered. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes.
