French Fried Garlic and Potatoes

1 pound frying potatoes cut for french fries
Oil for frying
2 heads of garlic, peeled, cloves cut in slivers lengthwise
Salt and pepper
Recipe
In deep fryer, fry potatoes in oil at 350 degrees for 5 to 6 minutes, until potatoes are cooked but not brown. Remove potatoes from oil and cool to room temperature. Raise heat to 390 degrees. Put potatoes and garlic in basket and cook until potatoes are lightly browned, about 2 minutes or less. Season with salt and pepper and serve immediately.
