Mexican Hotdogs
10 corn tortillas
1 pkg wieners
sharp cheddar cheese cut into strips
chopped onions (optional)
toothpicks to hold together
oil for deep frying
Recipe
Split the wieners most but not all the way lengthwise. Stuff the cut with strips of cheese and onion. Wrap in corn tortilla use toothpick to hold together and deep fry until tortilla is hard and wiener is dark brown. The tortillas are easier to handle if you microwave them 2 at a time for about 15 seconds. Some of he cheese is going to run out of the ends, and if you use them onions too. That is normal, just skim it off the oil and toss out. Serve warm with guacamole or salsa, or any dip you prefer.
