Butterscotch Refrigerator Cookies

1 cup butterscotch flavored chips
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Recipe
1. Melt chips in a one quart saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly,
until melted.
2. Place butterscotch mixture in large mixer bowl. Add all remaining
ingredients, except pecans. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until
well mixed (1 to 2 minutes). Stir in pecans by hand.
3. Divide dough in half. Shape each half into 8 x 1 1/2 inch rolls. Wrap
in plastic food wrap. Refrigerate until firm, at least two hours.
4. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Cut rolls into 1/8 inch slices with sharp
knife. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 5 to 7
minutes or until set. Cool one minute, remove from cookie sheets.
