1-cup powdered sugar
1-cup granulated sugar
1-cup oil
1/2-pound butter, softened
2-eggs
1-tsp baking soda
1-tsp salt
1-tsp cream of tartar
1-tsp vanilla
4 1/2 to 5-cups flour
2-tsp green food coloring
Recipe
Cream together all of the above ingredients until smooth. Except flour and food coloring, then add 4 1/2 to 5 cups of flour gradually to the creamed mixture. Divide dough into 2 bowls and add 2 tsp green food coloring to one bowl and mix in with a metal spoon. Add enough flour to make a dough which can be rolled in your hands without sticking to the palms. Roll dough into balls the size of a quarter or smaller. Then roll balls in granulated sugar or cake decorations added to sugar. Put cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten each dough ball with the bottom of a glass, which has been greased and sugared. Bake at 350 for 12 to 15 minutes. Cookies should not turn brown, but remain white. Cool and serve. "Cookies can be all white, all green or a combination of both, be creative". Makes 6 to 8 dozen cookies.
