    The Best Sugar Cookie you Ever Ate

    List of Ingredients

    1 cup margarine or butter
    2 cups sugar
    2 eggs
    Pinch of salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 cup oil
    2 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. cream of tartar
    5 cups flour


    Recipe

    Cream butter, and sugar (use electric mixer).
    Add eggs, salt, vanilla, and oil.
    After measuring the flour, sift together with the baking soda and cream of tartar.
    Add the flour mixture to the butter and mix well using a wooden spoon.
    Roll into balls between palms of hands about the size of walnuts.
    Dough will be very soft.
    Roll each ball into sugar and place on a ungreased cookie sheet.
    Flatten each ball with bottom of a glass dipped in sugar, or flatten with a fork.
    Allow enough room to spread.
    Bake in 350º oven for 10 minutes or lightly brown on edges.
    (these cookies are not suppose to get brown, so don't over bake)
    Before I put them in the oven, I put a thumb print in the middle of each cookie, and put strawberry, or raspberry preserves on it.
