    Chocolate Biscuit Bread Pudding

    2 cups half and half
    1/2 cup butter or margarine
    3 large eggs
    1 cup sugar
    1/4 cup cocoa
    1 can of buttermilk biscuits baked according to pkg. directions
    whipped cream or ice cream


    Recipe

    combine half & half and butter in a heavy saucepan, cook over medium heat until butter melts, cool. combine eggs, sugar, and cocoa; beat at medium speed with an electric mixer 1 minute. gradually stir in half & half mixture; set aside crumble buttermilk biscuits into a lightly greased 2- quart shallow baking dish. pour egg mixture over biscuits. bake uncovered at 350 for 35-40 minutes or until knife inserted into center comes out clean. covering with aluminum foil after 30 minutes to prevent over browning, serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
