Chocolate Chip Candy Pizza
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled
2/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 egg
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 cup colorful chocolate coated candies
colored sprinkles of your choice, optional
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt.
In the bowl of an electric mixer set on medium speed, beat the melted butter with the brown sugar, vanilla and egg until well-blended. Add the flour mixture and beat just until combined. Stir in the chips and the pecans.
Scrape the dough onto the baking sheet and flatten into an 8-inch round. Pressing a piece of waxed paper over the top will help smooth it out. The edges should be as even as possible. Bake for 10 minutes.
Remove from oven. Sprinkle the top of the pie with the chocolate-coated candies and with sprinkles. Bake for 10 more minutes, until the "pizza" is golden brown. Cool for 5 minutes in the baking sheet.
Remove to a large plate and slice into wedges. Store, tightly wrapped, at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 1 month.
