If you have small children and typically buy "detangler" for their hair, try this recipe: First, buy a bottle of no-tears conditioner. Then, get a clean spray bottle and mix 4-parts water to 1-part conditioner. Put it in the spray bottle and shake. This works just as well, and the cost is substantially lower.
