Orange Creme Dessert Sauce

3 egg yolks
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup whipping cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons orange juice
1/2 teaspoon grated orange peel
Recipe
In a small bowl whisk together egg yolks and sugar until light and thick. In a
medium saucepan heat whipping cream over low heat just to a boil. Remove from heat; cool 5 minutes. Stir in egg yolk mixture. Cook over low heat, about
10 minutes or until mixture is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon. Do not
boil. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla, orange juice and rind. May be kept
refrigerated up to 3 days.
This is wonderful over Chocolate Sour Cream Brownie Cake (I posted the recipe for this a while back.) or a chocolate pound cake.
