Barbecue Baked Beans with Jack Daniels and Cola Recipe
    Ingredients:
    ½ pound ground beef
    1 small onion (chopped fine)
1 can of pork n beans (plain ones are just fine and cost less)
½ jar of salsa (8 ounces total in the beans)
2 tsp brown sugar (light or dark)
    2 TBS Jack Daniels
1 TBS cola (any brand is fine – Coke, Pepsi, RC Cola)
    2 TBS ketchup
2 TBS yellow mustard (regular yellow or spicy brown is OK)
1 tsp Texas Pete hot sauce (or other favorite hot sauce)
    Directions:
Brown the beef in a skillet. Use a fork as you’re cooking to crumble it pretty fine.
    Drain off fat.
Add the onions and cook briefly. They don’t have to be cooked through but enough to bring out the flavor.
Remove meat and onions from heat.
In a bowl, combine beans, salsa, brown sugar, Jack Daniels, cola, ketchup, mustard, and Texas Pete and stir.
Add the ground beef and onions and stir again.
Spray a 9 x 9 baking pan with Pam spray so that clean up is easier. If using an 8 x 8 pan, cook a little longer and if using a 9 x 11 cook a little less.
Carefully pour the bean mixture into the pan. Splashes up the side tend to burn, make it hard to clean the pan, and splashes don’t look pretty. Wipe up any splashes for less headaches.
Cover the beans with a lid or with tin foil if your baking pan does not have a lid.
Bake for around an hour at 350 degrees F. The beans should be bubbly. If they still look a little soupy or if you like the top dryer, then remove the lid or tin foil and bake a little longer – 10 to 15 minutes or so.
