Pasta Butter
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 T. minced fresh herbs of your choice (basil, oregano, thyme, parsley and/or marjoram. Use at least two)
1 or 2 cloves garlic, minced
3 T. freshly grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Cream everything together and form into a log roughly the size of the butter when it was still a stick.. Wrap in wax paper, then plastic wrap or freezer paper and freeze until firm. Store in the freezer or the refrigerator until needed. This does just what the name implies. It makes noodles into instant dinner, but that's not to say you can't just as well spread it on crusty bread. It's versatility and savory spunk make it a great gift, too.
