List of Ingredients
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cups quick cooking oats
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 cup margarine
Mix above ingredients together till crumbly.
Filling:
1 lb. dates, diced
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup water
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp. vanillaRecipe
Combine filling ingredients in saucepan
and boil until thick and smooth.
Cool slightly.
Cover an oblong pan with 1/2 of flour mixture.
Add a layer of filling.
Cover with remaining flour mixture.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min.
Cool. Cut into squares.
