    Mom always made mac and cheese from scratch. No packaged meal for her! Lucky us!

    List of Ingredients




    1 1/2 cups elbow macaroni
    3 Tbs. butter
    2 Tbs. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    Dash pepper
    2 cups milk
    8 oz sharp processed American Cheese (2 cups), cubed
    (Or any other cheese that you prefer.)

    Recipe



    Cook macaroni in boiling, salted water till tender.
    Drain.

    In saucepan, melt butter and blend in flour, salt and pepper.
    Add the milk and cook and stir till thick and bubbly.

    Add the cheese.
    Stir till melted.

    Mix the cheese sauce with the macaroni.
    Turn into a 1 1/2 qt. casserole.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes
    or until heated through.

    Makes 6 servings.
