    1 cup sugar
    1/2 cup shortening
    1 egg
    1 1/2 cup applesauce
    1/2 cup chopped raisins
    1/2 cup chopped nuts
    1 cup mixed candied fruit
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1/4 tsp nutmeg
    1/4 tsp allspice
    1/2 tsp cloves
    1/2 tsp salt
    2 cups flour
    1 1/2 tsp soda
    1/2 cup hot water

    Recipe



    Cream sugar and shortening, add applesauce, raisins, nuts and fruits. Sift flour and spices and add. Last mix in hot water.
    Bake 45 to 60 min at 350.
