    Deep, Dark Chocolate Cake

    I make this cake often for special occasions or just 'cause. It stays very moist.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 3/4 cup flour
    • 2 cups sugar
    • 3/4 cupc cocoa
    • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 cup milk
    • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla
    • 1 cup boiling water


    Instructions


    1. Combine dry ingrediants in large bowl.
    2. Add remaining ingrediants except boiling water.
    3. Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes.
    4. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin).
    5. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13 pan.
    6. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes or until tester comes out clean.
    7. Cool 10 minutes on rack.
    8. Cool completely before frosting.


    Final Comments


    I like to use fluffy white mountain frosting with this cake. However, any frosting you like will work.
