Marshmallow Creme Fudge

3 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter
2/3 c. evaporated milk
12 oz. (2 packages) semi-sweet chocolate chips
7 oz. jar marshmallow creme
1 c. chopped and lightly toasted nuts (optional)
1 tsp. vanilla extractRecipe
Butter a 13 X 9 pan. Bring sugar, butter and milk to a boil, while stirring constantly. Still stirring, boil for 5 minutes on medium heat or until cany thermometer reaches 234 degrees. Remove from heat. Stir in chocolate chips until melted. Add remaining ingredients and mix well until blended. Pour into prepared pan. Cool at room temperature and then cut into squares.
