    List of Ingredients


    • 1 lb. ground beef
    • 1 onion, chopped
    • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
    • 2 (15 oz.) can diced tomatoes (i use tomatoes and green chilies)
    • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
    • 4 (15 oz.) kidney beans
    • 1 tsp. salt
    • 2 tsp. chili powder (add more if desired)
    • spaghetti (optional--use for cincinnati style)
    • shredded cheese (optional)


    Instructions


    1. Brown meat in skillet--drain.
    2. Chop onion, add to meat in skillet--continue to brown.
    3. Add tomato sauce to skillet and simmer for 5 minutes.
    4. In a large pot, add beans, tomato paste, diced tomatoes, salt, and chili powder. Boil for 5 minutes.
    5. Add ingredients from skillet to pot.
    6. Simmer on low heat for 45 minutes or more.
    7. Stir occassionally
    8. Cincinnati style: serve chili over spaghetti and then add shredded cheese on top to melt.


    Final Comments


    The longer you cook this, the better it tastes. I am sure you can do this in a crock pot, I have just not figured out how long you can cook it.
