    Prepare this tangy sauce ahead for ribs, steak, or chicken. Makes about 1 quart of sauce.

    List of Ingredients




    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 small onion, minced
    3/4 t. prepared mustard
    1 T. grated fresh horseradish or prepared horseradish
    1 t. minced parsley
    1/2 t. each crumbled thyme and marjoram (or 1 t. each minced fresh herbs)
    3 c. water
    2 T. vinegar
    1 T. meat seasoning sauce or Worcestershire sauce
    1/2 c. catsup
    2/3 c. butter
    2 t. sugar
    3/4 t. chile powder
    1/4 t. black pepper
    3/4 t. salt
    Liquid hot-pepper seasoning to taste

    Recipe



    Combine all ingredients and simmer uncovered for 45 minutes. Use the sauce for basting meat or fish, or dip chunks of hot cooked meat into the heated sauce before serving.
